Jesus Gabriel Huerta was born in East Los Angeles in 1965.
When he was 12 years old, his mother decided to take him and his brother back to Mexico, where he spent his formative years.
In November of 1983, he came back to Los Angeles and in 1984 he took charge of El Gallo Bakery.
El Gallo Bakery is more than just a bakery, it is a family business.
Jesus runs the bakery with his wife, Alejandra and kids.
Up until a year ago, Jesus lived in the same house where he was born.
From El Gallo’s first floor office he can see his home's yellow dome.
Jesus was always a food lover.
According to him: “By eating I learn and discover new flavors.”
He enjoys every step of food making, from research of new recipes to production to helping his customers.
He also loves to travel and enjoys world cuisine.
Nowadays, El Gallo is one the most successful and well known bakeries in town.
All of his hard work has made him a respected member of the community receiving certificates of recognition from the Senate, the Legislature, the East Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Major Villaraigosa.
